RELEASE DATE

2014 repress. Following on from an excellent LP for Blackest Ever Black and a 12" for Bed of Nails. The project has become one of
Dominick Fernow
's most intriguing, offering an artificial, unnerving take on both ambient and more propulsive electronic music, in turns reminding us of everything from
Aphex Twin
's
Selected Ambient Works Vol. II
to
John Carpenter
,
Vangelis
'
Blade Runner
soundtrack,
Leyland Kirby
, classic Chain Reaction,
Demdike Stare
and, of course, Fernow's own myriad productions under various aliases (
Prurient
,
Vatican Shadow
, etc.). Spread across 40 minutes,
The Plant With Many Faces
develops from Carpenter/
Frizzi
-esque bass arpeggios and abandoned cabin vibes on "Abaxial Masks...," to the petrifying
Killer Bob
themes in "Out of the Mess..." and the gloaming drones of "Complex Rituals...," finally brought to a close with the miasmatic clamminess of "Poisonous Spirit Species."
